Adventures in life and India by someone who should be settled down by now, but who still hasn't quite figured out what she wants to be when she grows up.
I call myself a gone to seed flower child from the sixties. I moved out to the country when I had kids.
I raised three children for the most part as a single mother living in direst poverty out in the country where I successfully kept their access to the emerging consumer culture limited until such time as their friend's parents bought them vehicles when they were teenagers. This was a very successful ploy. The only thing they really got angry with me about was not telling them about Halloween until my brother spilled the beans one year.
I'm very proud of my kids, they are all very successful and all very independent and free of the need to conform to the cultural norms of their age cohort regarding over investment in material goods. So I feel quite free to bugger off and hang out in India for six months a year.
I love India I can feel myself relaxing and beginning to like and accept myself better from the moment the plane touches down. I love the way India is still a little shabby around the edges and the countryside strolls right into the center of town. As a matter of fact, every trip, India is beginning to feel more like home to me.
Indi Bliss products are items I brought back to Canada on my last trip to India. They are available for sale while I am in Canada. I'll be posting my catelogue pages as I finish them. If anyone is interested in these goods I am willing to ship to Canada and the US or provide a private showing in Edmonton.
